This is a study program that prepares prospective general practitioners through education in basic and clinical medical sciences. After completing the S1 bachelor's degree plus professional program (a total of approximately 5.5 years), you are still required to undertake an internship of approximately 1 year before you can practice independently as a doctor.
Big Picture
DATAYou study basic medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry) through to clinical sciences (internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology) to diagnose and treat patients. The early phase is theory- and laboratory-based; the later phase involves clinical rotations at a teaching hospital.
