Education levels

how does it differ from other levels?
D3
Usually takes about 3 years and emphasizes operational skills and early job readiness in administration and business functions. An S1 bachelor's degree provides broader coverage of theory, analysis, strategy, and decision-making development.
D4
Usually takes about 4 years with a vocational orientation and stronger applied project work. An S1 bachelor's degree tends to provide a broader academic and conceptual foundation, while a D4 targets applied job competencies.
S2
Usually takes about 1.5–2 years after an S1 bachelor's degree and covers managerial decision-making, leadership, and strategy at a more advanced level. Graduates are geared toward managerial, specialist, or consulting roles.
S3
Focuses on original research and the development of new theories or knowledge about management, with a longer duration and higher research demands than an S1 bachelor's degree. Graduates generally pursue academic or research careers.

Facility Checklist

GUIDE

Questions specific to Business Management to bring to an open house or campus visit. Important facilities vary by program — these matter most.

Note: Myjor doesn't maintain a facilities database per campus. This is a tool for you to assess it yourself.

Are group workspaces available for discussions and presentations?
Are campus computer and internet access adequate for data analysis and group assignments?
Does the campus provide spreadsheet and statistical software, or guidance on accessing licenses?
Is there a business incubation space or program for testing student business ideas?
Can students access business, market, and journal databases through the library?
Are simulation or practice rooms available for presentations, negotiations, and entrepreneurship activities?
Ask about specific facilities that students can actually use, not just those listed in the brochure.

Tip: ask for a tour of the relevant labs/studios, not just the main building. Ask about access hours and whether undergrads can use the equipment.

04

Academic Quality

GUIDE

Three objective ways to assess a program's academic quality — including how to check them yourself.

A

Program accreditation status

Check the program's own accreditation rating (not just the campus's) on official sites. International accreditation is a plus for certain fields.

Unggul / A — top tier Baik Sekali / B Baik / C

Check at: BAN-PT (banpt.or.id) or the relevant LAM, & PDDIKTI (pddikti.kemdikbud.go.id).

B

Student–faculty ratio & how to calculate it

ratio = active students ÷ full-time faculty
Example: 600 students ÷ 25 faculty = 1 : 24
Ideal: ≈1:20 for STEM/science fields, ≈1:30 for social sciences/humanities (per Ministry of Education guidance).
!The smaller the second number, the more attention each student gets. Above 1:40 is worth flagging.
!Also check faculty qualifications (Master's/PhD) and whether there are industry practitioner lecturers.
C

Faculty research — relevant & current?

Look up faculty profiles and publications (Google Scholar / SINTA). For Business Management, look for those researching currently relevant topics:

Growth strategies for small and medium enterprisesConsumer behavior and purchasing decisionsDigital marketing and sales performanceEffectiveness of human resource managementProductivity and operational process improvementBusiness model innovationEntrepreneurship and the business ecosystemCorporate governance and business sustainabilityOrganizational risk managementThe impact of digital transformation on company performance

E.g., is there faculty researching AI, or cancer-related topics? Active research topics signal the program keeps up with the field.

ASK AT THE OPEN HOUSE

"What's this program's student–faculty ratio? What research topics are faculty currently working on? What percentage of graduates find field-relevant jobs within 6 months?"

05

Partnerships

GUIDE

Campus partnerships heavily shape internship, research, and career paths. Which partners matter varies by program — here's what's relevant for Business Management.

industrial internships
Ask about structured internship pathways at startups, corporations, consultancies, retail, manufacturing, or service companies; request data on the number of students placed.
joint industry research
Ask whether there are joint research projects, case studies, or consulting projects with companies, and how students can get involved.
incubation and entrepreneurship
Ask about access to incubators, business mentors, seed funding, competitions, and market validation support.
bootcamps and certifications
Ask about training partnerships for business data analysis, digital marketing, project management, or entrepreneurship.
professional associations and business communities
Ask about joint activities with professional associations or communities that give you access to practitioners and case studies.
exchange and international partners
Ask about exchange programs, cross-country projects, or joint classes with overseas partners.
active MoUs
Ask for a list of active MoUs, not just logos on a brochure. Ask how many students actually benefit from each partnership per year.
